Meet Our Team » Chris Sutton
Covering DFW, North, East, and West Texas as well as Southern Oklahoma.
Chris' journey in the plant industry began at the age of 14 when he started mowing lawns, sparking his interest in plants. While managing his own lawn care and landscaping business, he pursued Horticulture at TCC in Fort Worth. At 24, he joined Home Depot's garden department and later became a vendor representative for Color Spot Nurseries in 1997, establishing a career in nursery sales. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, hiking, fishing, and spending quality moments with his family. His wife, Sheri, and he have been married for 30 years and they have two adult children—Abbie and Alex. He was born in Fort Worth and currently resides in Keller, Texas. As for his favorite plants, he is particularly drawn to oak trees, such as Bur oak, Chinquapin oak, Monterey oak, and hybrid oaks. He appreciates the unique characteristics that arise from the hybridization of oaks, creating local colonies with diverse attributes.
