More About VanessaWe were fortunate to have Vanessa join Flowerwood in early 2020. Her early interests in the field are due to spending time with her mother in her extensive collection of heirloom roses. Her passion for the industry has grown from there mainly due to the good people in the plant world. Vanessa is fortunate to work in an industry where she is passionate about the product and where there is something new to admire and learn to care for every day. She is a proud Auburn University graduate with both a Bachelor's and Master of Science degrees. In her free time, she likes to preserve and restore native habitats. She enjoys using native plants to foster environments where beneficial insects like the federally endangered Rusty Patch Bumblebee can thrive. She would love to share resources with anyone interested in creating a pollinator garden. Vanessa is a now a family of three after the birth of her first child. Her favorite plants are the Southern Living Diana camellia with her white blooms, compact size, and fall bloom time. She also likes Southern Living's Mojo Pittisoporum for the dwarf habit and variegated foliage for this foundation shrub. The color and white bicolor blooms of Sunburst Encore Azalea also hold a special place for Vanessa.
